It's due to be released in May 2023 and stars actress Halle Berry as Ariel, alongside Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula. Lots of people are praising Walt Disney for casting a black actress as the mermaid in the production, which is an adaptation of the 1989 animated movie of the same name. However, some are disappointed that singer and actress Ariana Grande, who used to look exactly like Ariel, wasn't given the lead role.
